Frequently asked questions

Is Engram free?

Yes. Engram has no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads. It is free to download and free to use.

Does Engram work offline?

Yes. Engram does not require an internet connection. All your data is stored on your device.

Does Engram send my data anywhere?

No. Engram does not transmit your data to us or to any third party. See the privacy policy for details.

How do I back up my data?

Use the Backup option in the Settings tab to export all your items, notes, and interactions as a single JSON file. You can save the file anywhere — Files, iCloud Drive, email, AirDrop. Use the Restore option to import a previous backup onto the same or a different device.

Can I use Engram on multiple devices?

Engram stores data locally on each device. To move your data between devices, use the Backup and Restore feature. Automatic cross-device sync is not currently supported.

Which AI tools does Engram work with?

Any of them. Engram generates a prompt that you copy and paste into the AI of your choice — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, or any local model. Engram itself does not call any AI service.

How do I delete my data?

Delete items individually inside the app, or uninstall Engram to remove all data from your device. Because we don't hold any of your data on servers, there is nothing else to delete.

Please send it. Engram is actively developed and user feedback drives the roadmap.

Refunds

Engram is free, so there is nothing to refund. If you previously purchased an in-app item in a future version and need a refund, Apple handles refunds directly — visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
